Electrophysiology Consultation

An Electrophysiology consultation is for the diagnosis and treatment of disturbances in the electrical activity of the heart. Normal heart rhythm is dependent on the healthy electrical system. Disturbances in the activity can cause abnormalities like palpitations, dizziness and even fainting. These symptoms could indicate the need for additional testing like a tilt table test and electrophysiology studies. The results of these tests could lead to the insertion of a pacemaker or defibrillator, cardioversion or even ablation of the part of the heart anatomy that is malfunctioning.
